a few of the historic sites in bristol

these are some of the historic sites around bristol.  some of the sites are the train station, murals along state street, and other landmarks, including the war memorial at cumberland square park.

rhythm and roots '09

1. this weekend i went to the rhythm and roots reunion on state street in downtown bristol tn.-va. it was held on sept. 18-20 2009. there were several music stages on state street and some of the side streets and inside several busnesses. a 5k road race and a 2 mile fun walk was held on sept. 19th. a chili cook-off was staged on one of the side streets on the 19th as well. there was about 20 stages set up for bands to play on plus some street preformers along the street.
2. these are pics. of some of the sights i took as i wandered through the festival. there was quite a mix of music styles being played. mostly country and blugrass. some mixed with swing, big band, acoustic, folk, and other styles.
